The sayjin
The Ordinary sayjin. A fearsome, powerfull warrior. Used by Frieza to conquer planets cause of their unique ability to transform into a huge monster increasing their power 10 fold. Frieza being the most powerful being in the universe started fearing the sayjins, when several extraodinary fighter such as vegeta started turning up. Fearing that they would one day overthrow his reign, he destroyed them. Only a few sayjins survive and they rank among the top fighters in the universe.
Super Sayjin
Sayjin Legend foretold that every 3000 years an extrodinary fighter is created, a fighter with unparalell power, no mach for any other fighter in the universe. This is the super Sayjin. Different from normal sayjin , they have blonde hair, green eyes and hair that sticks strait up. This stage is first reached by Goku an average sayjin. Super sayjin is caused by uncontrolable release of anger. This was triggered when Frieza killed Gokus best friend Krillen. This stage made it possible for Goku to beat frieza in his ultimate form.

Super Sayjin 2
Super Sayjin 2, the next form of the sayjin first reached by gohan during the cell saga when gohan was fighting Cell. Gohan just couldnt bare the sight of his friends getting beat up by the Cell Juniors, when he saw this he beacame able to control his hidden powers, balancing speed, power, and agility. Forming Super Sayjin 2. During this phase the sayjin hair becomes more pointed like and a lot longer. Their power increases drasticly.
Super Sayjin 3

Super Sayjin 4
This Phase of the super Sayjin Chain is first reached like goku. What a surprise eh? This happens in dragonball GT when he is fighting bebi. Vegeta achives this stage by cheating, i guess you could say. He uses bulmas invention called a brute ray. Doing this he was able to achieve the Super Sayjin 4 level. During this stage their hair turns black and is more defined, they get Iris's around their pupuls and dark red rings around their eyes giving them somewhat of an evil look. Their tale also grows back in this stage enabling them to achive the ape form again.
Orazu Form
The Orzaru or Ape form is achieveable by any sayjin or half sayjin with a tail. When any sayjin with a tail looks at the light of a full moon they change into a giant ape. And their power increases 10 fold.

Super Sayjin 4 Orazu
To achieve this form you must have reached super Sayjin 4 level. By looking into the moonlight they once again trainsform into the giant ape and their power increases even more.
Ultra Super Sayjin
Ultra Super Sayjin or "Asended Sayjin" in the american version is first achieved by Vegeta in trunks when training in the room of spirit and time during the cell saga. During this phase the muscles on the body buldge. And the hair becomes more pointed. But they sacrifice speed and agility for power. Making it harder to hit the person, this stage would only be useful if you were in a dead lock kai blast.
